In our current age, It's hard to not ask ourselves, what is a deeply important question… Is technology inherently part of who we are, or is it fundamentally unnatural?…

I guess the question is, is technology moving us forward, or leading us to ruin.

The story of technological innovation is really the story of how we learned to tangibly exteriorize our imagination

Humans have an instinctual drive to innovate… an impulse to manifest our imagination.

Technology is really just a blueprint of our extended mind, in order to extend our thoughts, our reach, and our vision… And this has always been the case.

Ever since a caveman first picked up a stick on the ground, and used it to reach the fruit of a tall tree… he utilized technology to overcome obstacles and exercise his agency.

As we witness this disruptive age of human existence, we are witnessing that technology has taken on a life of its own.

Humans, for generations, have been able to heal themselves with focus and directed imagination. As we reach for this new control over self, do we give up our privacy?

If we give up access to our brains, our thoughts, ideas, dreams, aspirations, are we giving up our sovereignty?

Maybe we are just weaving the web.

Collectively creating a space and sentience which is omniscient. The Interconnectivity has the answers, it creates communities, it knows the actions and behaviors of its devout members. Users faithfully receive and transmit through this medium every day.

This participatory culture is synthesizing a force with similar omnipotence which was revered and adulated by all those before us.

Its purpose perhaps is to connect and educate all beings, and to help us realize we are all but nodes in one shared experience.

Technology is in full swing but who is holding the pendulum?

Whatever We Dream It To Be

Even Moore's law “the second law of nature” tells us that technology changes at an exponential rate. So perhaps as linear thinkers, we are future blind. It counters our intuition. We never see our future coming, because the innovations may be accelerating faster than we can keep up with.

“Technology comes through us, but not from us, and though it is with us, it belongs not to us.” It is the scaffolding of our minds. The exteriorization of the human imagination. It is a dream liberalized. Leading us soon to an event horizon, in which we will literally collide with our own imagination…

Technology is our collective and extended mind… allowing us to behold our imagination into a tangible reality. Technology is what has made us human. Who we are… is due to the feedback loop between us and our tools and the future is, whatever we dream it to be.
